Don’t Advertise Your Products in Mags…
and direct us to your website if you don’t have the actual product on there. It’s seriously annoying. I’m flipping through Surfing Mag right now and saw a Nixon watch I like. So I go to their website and I can’t find it anywhere.
What’s up with that? If you don’t have the product in stock then don’t advertise it in the mags. If you do have the product in stock then make sure it’s on your site. This definitely isn’t the first time this has happened either and Nixon isn’t the only guilty party.
Not only is it annoying to the consumer, but now your advertisement is worthless.
End rant.

I just came from a large retailer and that was the number 1 rule for ad and media placements. It’s one thing if a celebrity is wearing an exclusive or vintage item, it’s completely different if you paid money to drive someone to your site. It’s like having a customer walk into your store, browse, try things on and when they get to the counter, you tell them you’re sorry, but you closed 3 seconds ago while they were a loyal customer in the dressing room! I think not.
Btw, I just got back from the Surf Expo and there were some great examples of well-planned marketing campaigns/customer service and some terrible ones!

Hello–I just discovered your entertaining and informative blog. Thanks! One thing–spelling counts, even on the internet. I noticed several spelling errors in the first three posts. “Rebuttle” was my favorite! I’ll keep reading anyway–you are right on.
