Skullcandy Headphones: Something for Everyone
Lately a lot of companies have stepped into the headphone game, Nixon being the most notable. But the first company to really step behind skateboarding and other boardsports by supporting our riders has been Skullcandy.
With quality products and super legit team riders you know they’ve been cooking up a recipe for greatness. Take for example, their skate team: Greg Lutzka, Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Stevie Williams, Lizard King, Corey Duffel, Jimmy Marcus, Lauren Perkins, Adam Dyet, Rune Glifberg, and recent Maloof Money Cup vert winner, PLG! Pretty much an allstar cast of skateboarders riding for this company and for good reason too.
If you’ve never really had the desire to try out a set of Skullcandy headphones, you may want to seriously reconsider. Honestly, they have tons of different styles and I know for a fact that they have something for everyone.
Need some ear buds? Why not try out their “Smokin Buds” or the amazing “Full Metal Jacket” headphones. The Full Metal Jackets have this super awesome unique silver braided cord which I dig completely. The noise reduction of everything else around you is incredible.
If the DJ circuit is more of your style, they have some rad looking ‘phones for you too. Everything from the smaller built “Lowriders” to the “SK PRO” for real serious enthusiasts. The “T.I.” and “G.I.” headphones are also really good DJ type headphones and they come in a vast array of color mixes.
There is even a “Jim Phillips” collaberation graphic on a set of “Skullcrushers”. Basically if you want it they got it.

Unless Ruben is skimming some product under the table (I know Ruben and he would never do that), this not an ad and unfortunately there has been no kickdowns. I could use a new pair of headphones though so that is a nice thought.
We pride ourselves in being 100% transparent and if this was an ad or we got kickdowns, we’d fully disclose that in this post. I think Ruben just likes their product and the fact that they are doing a good job supporting riders, so he wrote about them.

I just got the new 09/10 product catalog and man have these guys stepped it up. Brand new products and insane colorways. Most of their products including the noise isolating FMJ’s now come standard with an iPhone mic.
It’s great to see the brand experiencing such great growth and stil managing to keep it roots strong and grounded…..rare these days.

I’m new to the site, but I guess I missed the point here.
In that case. Skullcandy really sucks. It totally blowls that their products fit just about any price point you are looking for. And they are huuuge idiots for adding mics so people can use these for blackberrys and iPhones- who owns one of those these days?! They are obviously total morons! The colors are horribly original and I would never buy a brand that supports the industry as much as they do. Oh, and they are too loud. Who needs to have music blasting in your ears?
Screw these guys. Go to best buy and purchase a bulk run of the mill brand like Sony! At least Sony is cool. Right? After all- they did invent the Walkman.

I would definitely agree. Great, rooted product with style and function. All about the individual and the industry. Come on… to those with a heavy hand, you obviously forget to breath once in awhile. Everyone is entitled to own opinion and choose whichever brands for headphones – but that’s the point. Skullcandy is dishing another choice – more choices, more competition. more competition better products. Sony better watch out.

Azel, It depends on what you’re looking to use them for. I have a few pair of Skullcandy. I uses smoking buds to use at the gym and to run and skate in and I use the GI for traveling and for school and work and stuff. the GI are my fav
